Samaritan for our local radio station Salford City radio.as you can see here Pop's gives away prizes to some lucky listeners
As you probably have noticed from my last blogs on here I have a good friend from fifty years plus who is a DJ from Salford City radio who from time to time does a live interview I think his last one was with the Bachelors group remember them I still have some music from the albums somewhere from the sixties I think .
Well this time pop's is doing a live interview with the singer Paul Layton from the new Seekers.
if your a fan you can visit Paul's blog at www.thenewseekers.com
He is going to be at the Stockport Plaza on June 21'st.
but before that you can listen live to pops with Paul at this link on May 31st 12 10pm
or you can listen on the radio at 94.4 FM
If you enjoy the show why not go to the board where you can discuss the event and any others that may be coming our way here's the link for the Forum
another old friend of mine was I say was we now move in different worlds for obvious reasons is
Russell Watson.
a great singer I have all his cd's and am waiting for his latest to appear
I used to work with Russell before he hit the big time but now okationaly see his dad he is always touring now or doing a TV show which is my point here,
DON'T MISS RUSSELL WATSON ON TREVOR MCDONALD'S TONIGHT SHOW, ITV1, 30 MAY Be sure to book 8pm on 30th May in your diary as Russell Watson will be being interviewed on what is set to be an enthralling episode of Trevor McDonald's 'Tonight' show on ITV1. This hour long special will feature Russell talking to Trevor about his life and how the events of the last few years have impacted on him and his family, as well as a moving documentary following Russell over the last twelve months. Be sure not to miss what will be an amazing insight into the incredible life of Russell Watson. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- data bases have to be updatedHooray it's wk end again
Well not a lot happened for me last wk I wish
I had a little ride to a place called Bath down south I think it's just in Summerset lovely place looks like we have some expensive property so I guess ill never live near lol but hey never mind im not doing to badly my little terraced property at least its mine .
I was driving in a place called Rochdale last wk when I got pulled over by the police just doing there job harassing motorist as usual don't get me wrong I think the police do a very fine job but why are they wasted on pulling motorist over for vehicle checks surely our government can find other people a job doing just that as well as lots of other things the police have to do like sitting on motorways with so called safety cameras speeding cameras to you and me yes I guess we do need them but surely this isn't a police job.
we now have a fleet of people running up and down our motorways doing a good job like dealing with accidents breakdowns and that sort of thing so I think they should be allowed on the normal roads to do that sort of things then the police can do what they should be doing catching bad people from our society.
getting back to when I got pulled over with the police I didn't mention I think I saw four police cars parked down the street a police motorbike and police on foot what a waste e of public money.
when I stopped they asked me if the van was my vehicle no I answered it belongs to the company I drive for so I gave them the address and then they asked me for my name and address .they then said do you realise your driving a uninsured vehicle I said I know im not driving a uninsured vehicle he said sorry but you are our data base says so he was going to ask me to get out of the vehicle to put it onto a low loader vehicle and take it to a pond where the police charge three hundred pounds to get the vehicle back.that's after you find your way home cos you are just left stranded as my wife was in a taxi once .
I said to the police officer would you like to read this piece of paper I have here my certificate of insurance that is well he replied our data base says it not insured but you can be on your way now twenty mins later.
The van is insured along with the other twenty vehicles on the policy.
when my wife got stopped in the taxi the taxi driver wasn't so lucky he didn't have his documents on him they refused to let him go get them they took his car and he had to phone for a taxi to take him home to get his documents he then had to go to the pound and pay to get his car out that was illegally taken as far as I am concerned and the police probably said to him well it said it wasn't insured on our data base lol but not for him as he lost most of his days taking and was out of pocket for the three hundred pounds which I think you lose even though it was insured because its not a police pound so the owners will not pay you back you have to argue your point with the police.
I feelrather peed off with that day but it ended ok for me but how many people go through it and have the car taken away .
getting back to the police I think we have one of the finest police forces in the world why not let them get on with the real crime of our society.

5/10/2008 Isle ofWightWhat a lovely place the Isle of Wight is Sheila and I went on Wednesday I was working taking a conveyer to a factory that makes Biscuits The machines I deliver are metal detectors as all food industries now have to own one . the company I delivered to didn't so a big supermarket owner told them to get one good for all of us as then we know our food is ok .
I drove to Portsmouth for the ferry so as it is from Manchester I drove approximate two hundred and fifty miles to the ferry and then a small ferry trip for half hour just long enough for me to have a rest from driving as I don't stop for a break ,as I like to keep going if I was to get tired I then would stop for a rest but that doesn't usually happen not on the outward journey sometimes it does returning .
The ferry cost was £ 130 that included two passengers and the machine so not to bad ,
after I delivered the machine we went for a drive around the island very small so I went approximate 75% of the island and we then went for our dinner as by this time it was around 1.30 PM after that we did a little shopping and then went back to the ferry I should add that the drive and shopping was all done in my own time I didn't get paid just in case someone from work is reading this lol maybe pops the Salford City Radio man who still likes you to drop him a line you will find him on the left of my space if you want a mention on the radio lol another plug for pops And I never get a mention from him I have added a little write up if your interested in going to the Isle of Wite with a couple of links to follow so enjoy we did and are returning for a wk end soon Welcome to the Isle of WightThe Isle of Wight is the perfect place to enjoy a relaxing break, at any time of the year. I Found You
An on-line friends poem... Somehow in this great big world I found my way to you My friend across the computer lines my heart, my soul, that's who. You try to make me smile with the mail you send my way. You never fail to drop a line each and every day. Whenever I have hurried home with something, I must share, I find it just so comforting that you are always there. Encouragement you give me and a friendship that is true. I'm glad my soul while reaching out found someone like you... Author Unknown The miracle is not to fly in the air, or to walk in water; but to walk on earth. 5/4/2008 Do I have a good CleanerCcleaner
Hi To All
I received a email from my space today asking can I suggest a program that will clean my registry on my PC
Can I suggest a program that will stop things starting up when my PC starts up
and finally can I suggest a program that will backup my system in case I mess up
Yep I can
I have put a scroller on my Space with some programs that I find useful that's why I leave this scroller on my space in the hope it will help someone one day.
I have the Ccleaner installed on my system and I found it to be very good it will clean your registry but will backup first .
It will uninstall programs you no longer want.
and it lets you decide what programs you want to start up when you boot up your PC
so everything you have asked for all in one small package
I say small package its very quick to download and so you will soon be up and running
Now the cost of such a great piece of software
Free

Over 140 million downloads!!! CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it's fast (normally taking less than a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! :) frequently asked questions on this software

OK hope this is ok for you remember my scroller on my entertainment corner some other good stuff to
but here's the link for you just click Ccleaner Derrk Acora PhilosophyGo placidly amid the noise and haste and remember... what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant for they, too, have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others you may become vain and bitter for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your career, however, humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is. Many persons strive for high ideals and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love, for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars. You have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labours and aspirations in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace with your soul. With all its sham and drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy.
